Monmouth County, New Jersey, has plenty to offer during the winter months. Whether you enjoy sledding or ice skating, bouncing around at an indoor trampoline park or shopping at a downtown mall, there is something for everyone to enjoy. When you plan your day, be sure to add La Rosa Chicken and Grill to your itinerary! We serve freshly prepared chicken dinners that the whole family will love, along with homemade side dishes.
Below are three fun things to do in Monmouth County this winter season.
Head out for some winter fun at one of the many sledding hills or ice skating rinks in Monmouth County. Just be sure to check the daily conditions, as the sledding hills will shut down if there’s not enough snow, and most ice rinks need to be at least five inches thick for winter activities.
A few of our favorite parks to check out include Holmdel Park, which has a sledding hill and ice skating rink, along with ice fishing, cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Monmouth Battlefield State Park also features sledding and cross country skiing, and if things are too crowded, check out the nearby PNC Bank Arts Center and Telegraph Hill Park.
Pier Village is a fun way to spend the afternoon - even in the winter! This year-round oceanfront destination features a variety of unique shops, public events, fun activities and restaurants that are perfect for Happy Hours, Date Nights and Sunday Brunches.
For fun, you can take the kids on the carousel, go ice skating or play games at the arcade. Boardwalk Fun and Games is a family fun center with virtual reality games, skee ball and crane games, while Pier Pins has bowling, a VR simulator and table games.
To get a break from the cold temperatures, spend the day indoors at the Monmouth Museum. This 15,000 square foot museum features two children’s wings and two galleries with rotating exhibits, along with a number of seasonal events.
For example, in February, the museum is celebrating seals with seal-themed activities and crafts. In March, the museum is rolling out a DIY birdhouse workshop and snowy owl craft that the kids will love! Also through March 24, 2024 is the 44th Annual Juried Exhibition, which features 100 artists in a variety of media.
While you have to be more creative in the winter, there are still plenty of ways to enjoy this season in Monmouth County. Whether you prefer outdoor activities like sledding, ice fishing or ice skating, or you’d rather be indoors playing arcade games or bowling, you can find a range of activities to fill your winter calendar. For an affordable lunch or dinner, visit La Rosa Chicken and Grill. We have healthy chicken dishes and freshly prepared sides that the whole family will love!
