1. Crockpot BBQ Chicken

One of the perks to cooking during the winter is that you get to bust out your slow cooker and instant pot. They pretty much handle the cooking for you, so there’s not much to do but prepare the ingredients.

This particular recipe is made in the crockpot and includes basic ingredients like chicken breast, barbecue sauce, Italian dressing, brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce. Combine the ingredients, shred the chicken once cooked and let everything simmer in the goodness.

When cooked through, you can serve the shredded chicken on hamburger buns and top it with coleslaw. It’s a warm and hearty dish that can easily serve a crowd during the holidays.

2. Oven-Baked Barbecue Ribs

Since it’s probably too cold to drag out the grill, you can cook your ribs in the oven instead! By following a few simple tips, you can make juicy, fall-off-the-bone ribs in the oven and transport yourself back to summer!

The oven-baked baby back ribs in this recipe are seasoned with a dry rub, glazed with BBQ sauce and cooked until tender and delicious. Leave yourself some time, as you can expect these ribs to cook for just under three hours.

The dry rub uses basic ingredients like brown sugar, chile powder and cayenne pepper. Be sure to pick a good barbecue sauce - you’ll be layering on plenty and using this (along with the dry rub) for flavor.

3. Barbecue Chicken Nachos

Nachos are a great way to break up the week. You can make them easily on a sheet pan and let everyone pile on the things they like - tomatoes, lettuce, cheese, avocados, olives, etc. But first, you need a good base, and that starts with barbecue sauce and chicken.

This recipe has you cook the chicken, add barbecue sauce and pour it onto chips on a sheet pan. You can then add other ingredients like onions, bacon, cheese and parsley. Pop the pan into the oven, and when finished, top with sour cream and whatever else you want! It’s a fast, affordable and easy BBQ dish that everyone will love.

4. Brisket and Bacon Grilled Cheese

Looking for an upgrade to traditional tomato soup and grilled cheese? Check out this brisket and bacon grilled cheese sandwich on French bread. The recipe is easy to make and contains staples like bacon, cheese and barbecue sauce. You will also need a pound of brisket, cooked and shredded.

Combine the shredded brisket and BBQ sauce, and layer it on a slice of bread that has melted cheese and bacon. This is definitely a winter comfort dish that you can eat on the couch while watching your favorite Christmas movie!

Barbecue isn’t just for the summer. By making one of these recipes, you’ll see that there are plenty of ways to get your BBQ fix without having to bust out the grill in sub-zero temps!
