Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and reservations are filling up fast! Fortunately, you can make a delicious dinner at home with all your favorite fixings - and you can skip the crowds and the high bill! Here are some Valentine’s Day dinner ideas that will make this romantic holiday everything you dreamed it would be!

Pasta with Chicken

As some people say, pasta is a love language. And we couldn’t agree more. Pasta is the perfect date-night dinner because it’s comforting, full of flavor and affordably priced. You can also customize it in many different ways thanks to the endless variety of pasta types and shapes - spaghetti, linguini, bowties, shells, cavatappi, etc.

Be sure to choose the perfect sauce for your pasta, as this is what adds all the flavor. From carbonara and alfredo, to arrabbiata and vodka, there are plenty of varieties to explore. To round out your dish, add shrimp or a piece of grilled chicken.

Chicken Piccata

Chicken piccata is an elegant dish, but it takes very little effort to make. All you need is basic ingredients like chicken breasts, flour, broth, lemon, capers and spices. You can prepare this entire meal on the stove and in the oven in just 30 minutes or so. Make sure to choose a high quality cut of chicken to ensure your dish turns out just right! For added flavor, try a creamy lemon sauce instead.

Seared Scallops

Most people don’t eat scallops on a regular basis, so they make the perfect treat for a Valentine’s Day appetizer or dinner! Scallops are also quick and easy to cook, usually taking about 10 minutes or so. This recipe uses 12-13 fresh large scallops, butter and seasoning. Make sure the scallops are dry and the oil is hot if you want those beautiful brown sear marks!

Chicken Parmesan (Parmigiana)

Here on the East Coast, Valentine’s Day is typically cold. That’s why chicken parm makes a great comfort dinner. It combines crispy breaded chicken, sweet tomato sauce and melted mozzarella and parmesan cheese. You can serve this dish over pasta or cauliflower rice, if you’re watching your carbs. The sauce and cheeses will spill over, making every bite scrumptious!

Skillet Steak and Vegetables

There are many ways to cook steak, but the grill typically isn’t one of them in the winter months. Fortunately, you can easily cook steak indoors on a skillet for less cleanup and more time to spend with your significant other! This recipe will teach you how to make the perfect steak dinner while adding asparagus and mushrooms for a complete skillet meal.
